How much does a PC cost to have custom-built for me?

That's like asking how long a piece of string is, well it's as long as you cut it

A basic home PC in a nice-looking black case with good airflow can be custom-built for as little as £325, what would you get for this? A modern quad-core CPU with inbuilt graphics, 16GB of RAM, 500GB NVMe SSD, a named brand quality power supply, wired keyboard and mouse, Wireless for connection to your home internet, power lead and HDMI lead to connect the PC to either a monitor or TV and a 2 year RTB warranty, this PC would even be capable of some simple gaming of easy to run and eSports games.

How much for a gaming PC?

This is a difficult question to answer without more information, most importantly what games do you want to play, what resolution would you like to be playing at (1080p is still the most common resolution according to the Steam hardware survey, but more and more people are moving toward 1440p and 4K gaming) what kind of FPS (frames per second) are you looking to achieve - some popular games like first-person shooters (also known as FPS - hopefully not too confusing) are better played at higher refresh rates (frames per second) strategy games, aren't generally required to run at higher refresh rates, but most people try to get a constant 60 frames per second and higher) although strategy games can be played well with 30 frames per second

So a basic gaming PC to run games at 1080p at 60 frames per second is considerably cheaper than trying to play games at 4K resolution at over 60 frames per second, again this all depends on which games you are going to be playing, as a ballpark figure a basic entry level PC for playing games at 1080p resolution will generally start around £500 - £600 depending on how much storage, memory, basic RGB lighting (I have built PCs that have had over £400 spent on the lighting alone, this is typically for the higher end gaming PCs)

For a good midrange 1440p gaming PC, I recommend allowing a budget of between £1200 £1500, but I can always work within your budget constraints and find the best compromise.

A high-end gaming PC - for this, you can be looking at over £1700 for just the Graphics card if you are looking for the best of the best and want to be playing in 4k at high framerates, want to add custom water-cooling and you can be looking at the price of a decent used family vehicle, I have built several very high-end gaming PCs with very high-end components including custom water-cooling and seen the components costing over £5,000 - do you need to spend this much to achieve high-end gaming, certainly not, especially if you are only going to be playing older games, eSports titles or strategy games, it all boils down to personal preference and budget.

Essentially a PC will cost anywhere between £325 to over £5,000 depending on your requirements, so please feel free to contact me for a discussion and free no obligation quote
